During his opening keynote speech at the “Greener Shipping Summit November 2024” conference under the title “Reshaping shipping: Challenges and Opportunities ahead”, Mr. John A. Xylas, ANC CEO, Treasurer of the UGS and Chairman-elect of INTERCARGO highlighted the key role of Greek shipping for the global economy and discussing the challenges the industry faces. Mr. Xylas noted: “We must recognise that decarbonisation is not just an environmental goal – it represents a shift in how we operate, collaborate, and innovate as an industry”.
